Upgrades Hoped For At Dysart Family Aquatic Center

Aquatics upgrades_ warmth, shade, play

Dysart hopes to have a new pool heater, two replacement water features and a shade canopy ready for the 2027 swimming season, City Clerk Tabby Hayek told KRTR in a September 30 email.

Hayek said the new water features would replace the old ones and the canopy would shade the seating area. The 2027 season is the city’s goal; installation and completion dates have not been confirmed.

The City Council approved a Land and Water Conservation grant agreement September 9 for planned aquatic center improvements. In May, Union Community School District approved selling the pool property to Dysart for $1 after the city discovered the district owned the land it was seeking a grant to improve.

The North Tama Telegraph previously reported an estimated $79,520 quote and a grant covering half the cost. KRTR is checking the final cost, city share and procurement schedule against the grant agreement. Hayek’s reply confirmed the scope and hoped-for timing.
